South Africa has built five new football stadiums in preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2010. Be the first time the country's history that the region will stage specially dedicated to football. Ten stadiums will be used in the 2010 World Cup (clockwise, starting from top left): Soccer City in Johannesburg, Gauteng, Ellis Park in Johannesburg, Gauteng, Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg, North West, Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo, Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, Loftus Versveld in Pretoria, Gauteng, Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, Nelson Mandela Stadium in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, Greenpoint Stadium in Cape Town, Western Cape, and the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, Free State.

In Joahnnesburgo, will undergo a major refurbishment and its new design is inspired by African pottery. The new capacity will be 104,000 fans and will host the opening World Cup and 2010 World Cup final in 2010, more than seven games, totaling nine.

The Greenpoint Stadium in Cape Town, is being specially built for the World Cup in South Africa Its coverage will shrink and the stadium will cadapcidade for 70 000 fans. Is one of the most important stages of the Cup, getting six first round matches, an eighth-finals, a quarter-final and a semi-final, a total of nine games.

The Moses Mabhida in Durban, is also one of the five stadiums built from scratch for the 2010 World Cup. Has the capacity to house 70,000 spectators and first round matches and one semi-final, a total of seven games.

Nelson Mandela Stadium - Estádio Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela, Port Elizabeth, is being built to host eight World Cup matches in 2010. Are 50 000 seats in the stadium that bears the name of Mandela, the South African martyr in the struggle against apartheid. Eight games will be played on their lawns, including a quarter-final and the third place match of the Cup in 2010.

The Loftus Versveld in Pretoria, was renovated and was reopened. Now with capacity for 45,000 fans, the stadium will host games in the group stage and knock-out Cup final in 2010, a total of five games.

The Mbombela in Nelspruit, will stage the World Cup in South Africa with a lower capacity of the public. Only 30,000 seats will be available after completion of its construction. Four Cup matches will be played on your lawn.
